Five hundred episodes of any series is a little hard to imagine, and watching them consecutively is almost impossible.

To give you a perspective of just how long "The Simpsons" has been on, we watched the episode where Bart goes to France in my French class during my junior year of high school. Yesterday, I turned 40.

As the article points out, after so many hours of non-stop viewing and lack of sleep, a participant would start feeling the side effects, such as headaches and such. But at least the viewer would be awake for the really great early stuff and wouldn't feel the effects of sleep deprivation until the show started to go into decline.

X-FACTOR SHAKEUP: Apparently, Fox execs weren't happy with how the overhyped "X-Factor" did during its first season. TVGuide.com reported yesterday that host Steve Jones and judge Nicole Scherzinger are both gone, while Paula Abdul may not be far behind.

TUESDAY'S BEST BETS: A lot of people lamented when Dave Chappelle ended his sketch show on Comedy Central a few years ago. Tonight, the network launches "Key & Peele" at 10:30 p.m., with stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele performing both live standup and sketch comedy. Will it be as good as Chappelle's show? Hard to say, but the commercials looked funny.

"Ringer" (CW, 9 p.m.) returns after a long layoff following "90210." The Sarah Michelle Gellar vehicle is probably one of the bigger disappointments creatively among the new shows launched this fall. It'll be interesting to see how many viewers return.

ABC is all reruns except for the season finale of "Celebrity Wife Swap," as the wives of wrestler Mick Foley and actor Antonio Sabato Jr. trade spouses.

I made a mistake a couple of weeks ago -- tonight is the "Glee" (Fox, 8 p.m.) tribute to Michael Jackson. Considering how much their other "tribute" shows have stunk, I'm glad I dropped this show a while ago. It's followed by new episodes of "New Girl" and "Raising Hope."

NBC has two hours of "The Biggest Loser."

Cable is where it's at, as "White Collar" (USA, 10 p.m.), "Justified" (FX, 10 p.m.) and "Southland" (TNT, 10 p.m.) are all new and all opposite one another.
