A Macon man was killed in a dirt bike accident Sunday.

Dexter Green, 35, was killed after he apparently lost control of the motorbike after 5 p.m. Sunday, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Jones said Green died of head trauma and neck trauma, though he had been wearing a helmet.

Green had been riding alone in the rear of Christian Avenue near Whitfield Street in West Macon. The area is near the Macon Mall, Macon Farmers Market and Chuck E Cheese’s.

Jones said no autopsy will be performed. Blood was drawn for toxicology tests, but no alcohol or other intoxicants are suspected.

Jones speculated he might have hit a fence in a grassy area behind what used to be a Christian book store.

“We don’t know where he lost control of the bike,” he said.

The motorbike was borrowed from a youth in the neighborhood.
