A Macon police officer was injured Wednesday while he was chasing a man accused of kicking in the door of an east Macon home.

The officer responded to the 2300 block of East Pine Hill Drive about 7:30 a.m. and saw 25-year-old Antonio Dewan Fluellen running across a backyard. During a foot chase, the officer jumped into a creek bed and injured his ankle, according to a police news release.

Despite the injury, the officer continued chasing Fluellen and caught him. Fluellen was charged with criminal trespass, obstruction and violation of State Court probation, according to police.
