The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two people wounded in Danville on Thursday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a person shot just before 1:30 p.m., said Chief Deputy Billy Boney.
When they arrived on the scene on First Street, a suspect barricaded himself inside a house, Boney said. After a brief standoff, he surrendered to deputies.
Twiggs County called for back-up, receiving assistance from Georgia State Patrol and Wilkinson and Laurens counties.
The two victims were taken to the hospital. Boney was unsure of the seriousness of their injuries or their condition.
Multiple suspects are in custody and currently being questioned by Twiggs County officials.
