WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- The team representing the Mid-Atlantic at the Little League World Series is from Keystone, Pa., in neighboring Clinton County.

Crowds are expected to be in the tens of thousands during the team’s game Friday night as there has not been a local team in the series since 1969. Mid-Atlantic will play Great Lakes at 8 p.m. at Lamade Stadium.

Look inside the dorms

International Grove is where the dormitories that house the 16 teams are located, and it’s heavily guarded. A media tour Thursday granted access to this world where even parents are not allowed.

Surprisingly enough, the room where the players sleep in bunk beds wasn’t messy, and the only items of the floor seemed to be baseball bags.

Shortly after, the Southeast players raced from dorm No. 2 to the game room. They were the late arrivals and had to sit on couches and watch other teams’ players play ping pong and air hockey.

Death’s scythe stalls parade float

The Grand Slam parade was held Wednesday night in downtown Williamsport. Local reports estimated about 50,000 people lined the two-mile route.

The parade featured all 16 teams as well as marching bands and a Haunted House float that nearly took down a stop light in one intersection. Death’s scythe was too tall and a man dressed as a demon had to climb up to adjust it before the float could go on.
