Soldier from Warner Robins killed in Iraq

A soldier from Warner Robins was among three service members killed in an attack in Iraq, according to officials in Fort Hood, Texas.

Spc. Robert Gregory Tenney, 29, died Wednesday of wounds sustained from an indirect fire attack in Badrah, Iraq.

Tenney entered active-duty service in December 2006 and had been assigned to Troop G, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, since August, according to a news release.

Tenney received numerous awards and decorations during his service, including an Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with combat service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and an Overseas Service Ribbon.

The two other men killed were identified as 27-year-old Capt. Matthew Nielson of Jefferson, Iowa, and 29-year-old Capt. David Van Camp of Wheeling, W.Va. All three were assigned to the regiment based at Fort Hood.
