Robins Air Force Base is operating at a heightened security level in response to the death of Osama bin Laden.

According to a base spokesperson, traffic conditions along Ga. 247 and at base entrances may be affected by the increased security. The base did not release the specific actions it would take.

Robins is currently in Force Protection Condition Bravo. FPCON is set by U.S. Northern Command for all military installations, and can be set at Normal, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta.

Robins typically operates at FPCON Alpha, which is in place when there is a general but unpredictable threat of possible terrorist activity. FPCON Bravo indicates a more predictable terrorist threat. FPCON Charlie and Delta are reserved for likely or imminent threats.
