Two 16-year-old boys led police on a chase after officers responded to an alarm at Simply Self Storage, 4500 Billy Williamson Drive, just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to Macon police.
The teenagers hid in a storage unit, but were later caught by the officers. They had many stolen items in their possession from a string of burglaries in the same shopping center as Simply Self Storage and items from a burglary at another location, according to a police news release.
Businesses burglarized on Billy Williamson Drive include Simply Self Storage, Danny Davis Tax Service, Kandee Nails, Decadent Cakes, Cabelo Salon, Salon Chambre, Bibb Income Tax, Elite Pool Care and Signature Styles & Studio. Bloomfield Apparel on Bloomfield Road also was burglarized, according to the release.
The teenagers also allegedly stole a vehicle in Bibb County and traveled to Crawford County where they were involved in a chase. They abandoned the car, stole another vehicle and traveled back to Bibb County, according to the release.
