Halloween attractions in the midstate

Posted: 12:00am on Oct 10, 2010

Can’t get away for a weekend? There’s plenty of Halloween fun to be had right here in Middle Georgia. Not only can the fearless in your bunch get their thrills, but there’s lots for the whole family.

Experience kid-friendly frights at the Georgia Children’s Museum’s Scared Silly Haunted House. Take part in a Halloween tradition with a safe stroll down Main Street Byron for some trick-or-treating. Or go to the Halloween Fear Factory to contribute to “Gifts of Love,” a charity that helps needy families in Houston County.

Grown folks can enjoy the insane scares at the F.E.A.R. Institute — where the minimum age recommendation is 11 years old — or they can brave the creepy pig-faced “Old Man Slaughter” of Haunted Montrose. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better way to spend an evening in the crisp autumn air than standing in line waiting your turn to get the willies.
