College Hill Alliance Director Pat Madison updated Macon City Council members Tuesday about his organization’s effort to make improvements to Tattnall Square Park.

He identified “two key areas”: extending the sidewalks around the circumference of the park and increasing the number of electrical outlets in the park to make it easier to host bigger events.

“That said, this is a city park and so this has to be a collaborative effort between the College Hill Alliance and the city,” Madison said, adding that the Knight Neighborhood Challenge has made a grant to the College Hill Alliance to pay for a master plan and design for Tattnall Square Park.

Madison also noted the progress in Beall’s Hill where new housing prices top out at $139,000.

“What happens with this neighborhood moving forward will happen because of the people who live there,” he said. “We’re just building houses.”
