Tennille man severely injured in High Falls wreck

A Tennille man was rushed by air ambulance away from a bad motorcycle accident in Monroe County on Sunday.

Witnesses said Bennett Barnes, 26, had been attempting to pass a car in High Falls on double yellow lines, then swerved to avoid an accident with another car, then lost control, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. Barnes had been traveling on High Falls Road, and had been trying to avoid a car turning onto Pioneer Trail.

The sheriff’s office said he was severely injured in the crash. His medical condition was not available Monday.
