One person is in custody after Thursday’s bank robbery in Chauncey.

Dodge County sheriff’s investigators traced a lead to Pierce County, where one suspect was caught after a chase that began near the town of Blackshear and ended with a crash about 3 p.m., said Capt. Tony Winborn, public information officer for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was charged with the bank robbery plus local charges in Pierce County.

A search warrant uncovered evidence from the robbery and an undisclosed amount of money was recovered from the Citizens Bank and Trust Co. where two masked men accosted a bank employee on the way into the bank early Thursday, Winborn said.

Authorities expect to make other arrests and are not releasing the suspect’s name now. The FBI and GBI are assisting in the investigation, Winborn said.
