WARNER ROBINS — Police officials say their investigation into a reported break-in at Warner Robins Redevelopment Agency offices has been filed as open, but unsolved.

That’s because nothing definite came out of the investigation to determine what took place in the office, Lt. Scott McSwain said Wednesday.

RDA Executive Director Gary Lee said in May it appeared his office had been burglarized, saying some files were missing from a file cabinet that appeared to have been tampered with. Lee also said it appeared someone had tried to log into his city-issued computer. Files taken from the cabinet pertained to Georgia-Robins Aerospace Maintenance Partnership dealings, as well as RDA information and files on Rosser International.

Lee said that on May 4, before heading out of town on business, he tried unsuccessfully to log on to his computer at his office in the Mantech building on Duke Avenue off North Davis Drive.

He thought nothing of it because he could still check in through his BlackBerry.

When he tried again the afternoon of May 5, he said he realized someone had tried to log in to his computer, as he had been locked out after several unsuccessful attempts. That was when he noticed his file cabinet looked as if someone had tried to enter it.

While the initial police report lists a prying tool of some sort as being used on Lee’s file drawer, subsequent examination did not find evidence of forced entry.

Analysis of Lee’s laptop showed failed log-in attempts the day the police report was made and the day before, as well as fingerprints that have yet to be identified, McSwain said.

If officials are able to pick up on another lead, they will surely follow it, he said.
