Macon native Max Wood wont get a chance to request a recount in his failed bid for the Republican nomination for state attorney general.
Wood, a former U.S. attorney, narrowly trailed second-place finisher Preston Smith by a margin of 1.1 percent (6,589 votes) after state election officials certified the vote Wednesday.
Wood had hoped he could gain enough ground with absentee ballots, which werent all fully counted until Wednesday, to come within the 1 percent margin necessary to request a recount.
