Perry sets tax increase hearings
Perry city officials will hold public hearings next month to discuss a new proposed millage rate that would increase property taxes by 4.25 percent.
City officials have said in meetings this summer that an increase may be necessary to cover any revenue shortfalls. Last month, the City Council approved a $10,768,500 budget for the 2011 fiscal year, which began July 1.
The city will hold public hearings at City Hall on the proposed millage rate increase Tuesday, Aug. 17 and Sept. 7 before voting on the matter.
