Macon police are investigating two dog-bite cases in south Macon.

A 33-year-old Glendale Avenue man sustained six “serious” bites about 9:15 p.m. Monday while walking from his home to a store on Houston Avenue, according to a police report.

The man told officers that several pit bulls emerged from an alley and attacked him. Residents in the 1200 block of Glendale Avenue heard his cries for help and scared off the dogs.

An ambulance came to the scene, but the man refused to be taken to the hospital. Officers were unable to find the animals, according to the report.

In a separate incident, a 7-year-old Roy Avenue girl was bitten in the leg about 8:10 p.m. April 8 while walking to her house, according to police.

The girl’s mother and some children got the dog away from the girl. Police met with her at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, according to a police report.
