A look at lobbyist spending on midstate legislators and other top leaders

Posted: 12:00am on Apr 11, 2010

The following is a list of most Middle Georgia legislators, and some of the top leaders in the House and Senate, with the approximate amount that lobbyists have spent on them through March 31 of the ongoing legislative session. Some totals may be low, due to minor errors in lobbyist filings that make it difficult to collate records, such as misspelled names. Some totals may be high, because lobbyists sometimes overattribute the cost of a dinner for a large group of people to a particular elected official. The examples given are typically the largest single gift, trip or dinner.

Lobbyist reports, as well as campaign finance documents, are available from the Georgia State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.georgia.gov.
