WARNER ROBINS — The rapper Waka Flocka Flame has been released from the Houston County Jail.
Waka Flocka Flame, whose real name is Juaquin James Malphurs, had been taken into custody Tuesday for violating probation. He had previously been convicted of possession of a sawed-off shotgun. It was not immediately known what the probation violation had been, or why he had been released.
Malphurs, 23, was released Thursday evening from the jail, just in time for a performance tonight in Gainesville, Fla. He is signed to So Icey Entertainment, a label founded by rapper Gucci Mane.
The rapper’s debut single, “O Let’s Do It,” is steadily climbing the billboard charts. For the magazine’s March 24 issue, the song is No. 1 on the heatseekers chart, No. 7 on the Rap Songs chart, No. 12 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 76 on the Hot 100 songs chart.
