A woman turned up at The Medical Center of Central Georgia early Saturday with a gunshot wound in her right leg, according to a Macon police news release.

When police arrived at the hospital to investigate, Caryn Powell, 28, told them she had been shot at a house on Whitehead Street. She said all she remembered was hearing shots coming from outside the house.

A man who was also at the Whitehead Street address drove Powell to the Medical Center, according to the release. The wound did not appear life-threatening.

Investigators encourage anyone with information about this shooting to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
