A liaison for he Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth visited the Capitol on Thursday. There are 116 video conference systems placed around the state to help people talk to doctors and lower health-care costs. The program is headquartered in Waycross and funded with private and federal funds, state Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine said. The program started in Oxendine’s office about five years ago, but is now run by a private foundation. More information on the program is available at www.gatelhealth.org.
