Authorities spent a second day searching for a missing Byron man in Lake Tobesofkee until dark Monday, without success.

Willie Buckles, 52, went fishing with his uncle, 62-year-old Frank Roquemore of Warner Robins, shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities found Roquemore’s body floating near Claystone Park early Sunday afternoon, and officials said Monday that he drowned. Searchers from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, the state Department of Natural Resources and the Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area have helped with search efforts, which have included boats in the lake as well as a DNR helicopter.

On Sunday, searchers found a seat from the bass boat and a butane heater that apparently had been in the boat.
