Macon man tells police he accidentally shot himself in hand

A 21-year-old Macon man told police he accidentally shot himself in his left hand between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Friday, according to Macon police.

Officers met with the man at Coliseum Northside Hospital where he told them he “found the gun somewhere” and “always wanted to shoot a handgun,” according to a police report.

The man said he didn’t know where he was when he shot himself, but that he threw the gun into the woods, according to the report.
