The Bibb County school board has scheduled another called meeting for 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Board President Gary Bechtel said Friday that it’s possible “a vote may be taken” after another closed-door session.

Board members met behind closed doors for about an hour Thursday night before adjourning without taking a vote or making any statements.

School board attorney Warren Plowden and Macon lawyer Jerry Lumley were present at the meeting.

There has been speculation that the school board and Superintendent Sharon Patterson are negotiating a settlement to terminate Patterson’s contract, which expires June 30, 2011.

Patterson and two of her top administrators are the subject of an ongoing state ethics investigation about whether they failed to report principal misconduct to the state in a timely manner.

At least two school board members, Lynn Farmer and Susan Sipe, and other community leaders have said Patterson should resign.

Patterson, who earns about $200,000 a year in salary, has been Bibb County superintendent for 10 years.
