WARNER ROBINS - Three Warner Robins High School seniors signed letters of intent to play football and continue their educations at a ceremony held in the school's media center today.

Jonathan Jackson (Butler Community College), Andrew Lauritsen (Valdosta State) and Jeffrey Whitaker (Auburn) made their choices official in front of family, faculty and members of the football team.

Jackson said he's been running the football ever since he began playing football in a recreational league. He'll get the opportunity to be the featured back in the I-formation philosophy used at Butler, six-time NJCAA national champions. As a senior, Jackson average 6.9 yards per carry and scored eight rushing touchdowns.

Lauritsen said he expects to compete for a starting spot on the Blazers' defensive line right away. The 6-4, 275-pound tackle teamed with Whitaker to anchor one of the best defenses in Class AAAAA.

Whitaker verbally committed to Auburn on Monday. He confirmed that announcement in writing today.
