ATLANTA — Gov. Sonny Perdue said Georgia will do whatever federal officials need to help with humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti.
Perdue said the state’s National Guard is standing by waiting for word on how they can be useful.
At a state Capitol news conference on Thursday Perdue acknowledged “the unspeakable level of human misery off our coast in Haiti.”
He said the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and state homeland security officials are ready to help if needed.
