Milledgeville-Baldwin County is one of 41 sites across the nation and Puerto Rico selected for the “Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities” initiative, selected from 540 proposals.

Georgia ranks 14th in adult obesity and third in obesity among children, a recent report stated.

The grants will continue through 2013, with the goal of reversing the obesity trends by 2015, the release stated.
