FORT VALLEY — Peach County Schools Superintendent Susan Clark will be out of the office for several weeks to undergo hip replacement surgery, school board officials said during Tuesday night’s board of education meeting.

The board unanimously voted Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services Jim O’Shields to serve as temporary secretary of the board in Clark’s absence. Allison Beeland was appointed temporary parliamentarian for the school board meetings.

O’Shields said Clark would be away for about six weeks.

“(Clark) has said we have a great staff, and she has great confidence in the leadership team,” said Sara Mason, community/parent liaison for the school system.
