Fatal accident under investigation in Perry

Houston County authorities are investigating a fatal accident that happened Wednesday evening in Perry.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. a tractor-trailer exiting Interstate-75 hit a vehicle on Sam Nunn Boulevard and kept going, according to authorities.

The truck driver was apprehended a short time later but no further information on the accident or the victim was immediately available this morning.

The Perry Police Department and Houston County Sheriff's Office is expected to release more details later today.
