JoJo Cox, Twiggs County: Cox and Tony Hollings were the only two Twiggs County players to receive all-state honors twice. Cox was a consensus pick in 2004 and 2005. Rushed for 1,862 yards and 22 touchdowns as a senior. Rushed for 1,720 yards as a junior. Rushed for 1,600 yards as a sophomore. Rushed for 54 touchdowns in his career. He was an honorable mention in 2003 as a sophomore. Signed with Clemson and later Marshall.

Alfonzo Dennard, Wilcox County: Had 60 tackles, five interceptions and three forced fumbles as a senior. He also had 780 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns and had three kick return touchdowns. Named a consensus all-state pick as a senior. Led the team to the state championship game. Had 60 tackles and six interceptions as a junior. Scored 12 receiving touchdowns with 840 yards as a junior to go along with six rushing touchdowns. Currently a starting cornerback at Nebraska.

Casey Hayward, Perry: Received all-state honors as a senior when he led the Panthers to the state quarterfinals and one of the best seasons in school history. He accounted for 2,591 yards of offense and 39 touchdowns as a senior quarterback. Currently a defensive back at Vanderbilt.

Kareem Jackson, Westside: Rushed for 1,436 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. Caught nine passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns as a senior. Didn't have many opportunities at cornerback because quarterbacks avoided him. But he had three interceptions. Currently, a starting junior cornerback at Alabama. Ranked as the No. 3 junior cornerback prospect for the 2010 NFL Draft by ESPN.com.

Brandon King, Houston County: Named to the AP all-state team as a senior after accounting for more than 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns as a dual-threat quarterback. Compiled 1,592 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior. Became a three-year starter as a cornerback at Purdue.

Brett Layson, Tattnall Square: A quarterback at Tattnall, Layson excelled in Barney Hester’s offense. He was the Telegraph’s Co-City Player of the Year in 2005. Led the team to the state championship as a senior. He was a first-team All-Middle Georgia pick after he rushed for 1,826 yards and accounted for 46 touchdowns as a senior. He was the Telegraph’s overall Athlete of the Year in 2006. Layson currently plays at Georgia Southern.

Cedric Rawlings, Johnson County: Rawlings was a consensus all-state selection in both his junior and senior years. He was named to the team as a junior wide receiver in 2005 when he helped lead JoCo to the Georgia Dome. He then received the honors as a quarterback in 2006. Passed for over 2,000 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior. Only one public school quarterback - Todd Coley - has more touchdown passes in a single season. Signed with Concordia College.

Willie Reid, Warner Robins: Received consensus all-state honors as a senior in 2000. Rushed for 1,864 yards as a senior. Only considering his contributions this decade, so his numbers before then don't factor into the discussion. Standout returner. Rushed for a school-record 5,346 yards and scored 65 touchdowns at Warner Robins. Played at Florida State. Played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

Chansi Stuckey, Northside: Stuckey passed for 1,286 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the Eagles to the state championship game in 2001. He rushed for 1,008 yards and 10 touchdowns. Named the Class AAAAA Offensive Player of the Year by the AJC and AP as a senior. Standout at Clemson. Currently a receiver for the Cleveland Browns.

Roy Walker, Macon County: Walker received consensus all-state honors at defensive back as a senior in 2002. As a quarterback, Walker passed for 900 yards and rushed for 1,400 yards with 30 combined touchdowns in 2002. Region Player of the Year. Played at Clemson.
