WARNER ROBINS — A man who was shot just before being served with two warrants died of self-inflicted wounds, according to a bulletin from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy was attempting to serve warrants to Edmund Roy Baker Jr., of 121 S. Tamie Circle in Kathleen, Thursday afternoon when he heard a gunshot, officials said.

Baker was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head and was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he died, officials said.

Baker was to be served with two warrants on charges of child molestation and sexual battery, according to the sheriff’s office.
