The Little League softball champions from Warner Robins were honored on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday.

House Resolution 742, sponsored by Rep. Jim Marshall, D-Ga., and co-sponsored by a host of other representatives, formally congratulates the Warner Robins American Little League softball team for winning the Little League World Series on Aug. 19.

“I am delighted that the House passed this legislation,” Marshall said. “It’s pretty special that the girls won the Softball World Series, and I wish them great success in the future in their individual lives.”

Each player and coach is mentioned by name in the resolution. The resolution also congratulated the organization on becoming the first in the nation to win the Little League World Series in both baseball and softball. The baseball team won the title in 2007.

The honor leads off a week of honors for the softball team. Saturday, the team will collectively serve as grand marshal of the annual Warner Robins Christmas Parade.
