Bibb deputies investigate armed robbery

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is looking into an armed robbery Tuesday evening at the Avalon Gardens Apartments on Chambers Road, a report said.

According to the report, at about 10:45 p.m. the victim heard a knock at her door and opened it, thinking it was her boyfriend. Two men dressed in black with masks over their faces forced their way in. One of the men had a handgun, the victim told investigators.

One of the men followed her into her bedroom, where she gave him about $1,500 in cash. The two men then left. The victim’s boyfriend told investigators that he used to have video game competitions and that he and his friends would bet money on the games.
