Dodge County arrests rape suspect

Dodge County sheriff’s investigators arrested a man in connection with the rape of a minor Thursday, according to a news release.

According to the release, investigators arrested Kenneth Richard Deese, 42, of Milan and charged him with rape and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Dodge County deputies also arrested a man with threatening a person with a gun on Chester Highway Nov. 10.

The release said deputies arrested Willie Eldon Bennet, 49, of Eastman and charged him with terroristic threats/acts, disorderly conduct, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug-related objects.

In a separate incident Friday, Dodge County deputies responded to a wreck on Shady Acres Drive. According to the release, the driver fled on foot as deputies chased him.

The driver, Will Simmons, 46, entered a residence where he fought with deputies, who ended up Tasing him before taking him into custody. Simmons was charged with DUI, terroristic threats/acts and two counts of felony obstruction of officers.
