The Ocmulgee River is forecast to keep rising until a projected crest of 24.1 feet in Macon this afternoon.
Runoff from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida brought the river rapidly over flood stage of 18 feet and was at 23.67 feet as of 3:30 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. A flood warning remains in effect until Sunday when the water level should drop to 18 feet or below. Today's crest is expected to be higher than the March 29th crest of 23.6 feet.
