GCSU women’s soccer falls in PBC semifinal

After a second half surge, eighth-seeded Montevallo (8-8-3) upset No. 4 seed Georgia College & State 2-1 on Friday in the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference women’s soccer tournament.

The Bobcats (10-6-5) dominated the first half, looking strong after an early score. Senior Jamie Nevin netted the first goal unassisted off of a breakaway during the sixth minute.

Montevallo’s Jenna Kuzemski tied things in the 80th minute, and Erin Duncan scored the winner on a penalty kick in the 87th minute.

Mary Rob Plunkett had six saves for GCSU.
