Marshall plans Macon town hall meeting Saturday

U.S. Rep. Jim Marshall, D-Ga., is planning a town hall meeting Saturday in Macon, unless the U.S. House of Representatives stays in session Saturday for a long-awaited vote on health-care reform.

If not, the meeting is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at the Central High School auditorium at 2155 Napier Ave., Marshall’s office said. It’s one of several town hall meetings Marshall has had in Middle Georgia during the past few months.

“Constituents will have a chance to speak with Congressman Marshall about the economy, health care, energy prices and protecting American jobs, ask questions and discuss these issues,” Marshall’s office said in a news release. Health-care discussions have dominated some of these meetings, and Marshall has said he doesn’t support the current proposed Democratic reform bills.
