Two drivers killed in Houston County accident

Houston County sheriff's investigators are trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were involved in a head-on collision that killed two drivers Friday night.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sue Ann Bray, 48, of Ellijay, was driving her Nissan Altima southbound on Ga. 247 about 100 yards south of Beaver Creek Road when a northbound 2001 Honda Accord driven by Valona Jo Wright, 29, of Hawkinsville, crossed the center line, according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

Wright and Bray were both pronounced dead at the scene.

An 8-year-old boy was traveling with Wright and was treated and released from the emergency room of Perry Hospital, the release stated.
