Man hurt in accidental shooting near Roberta

A man suffered an accidental gunshot wound to the abdomen Saturday morning near Roberta.

The victim apparently was shot when another person was removing his gun from a pickup truck, according to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. The incident happened at a hunting location off Ga. 128 west of Roberta.

Someone drove the victim to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, and from there an ambulance took him to The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. The injury did not appear to be life-threatening, the release said.

The names of the people involved were being withheld until family members could be notified, the release said.
