Georgia-LSU Gameline

The star: Charles Scott, running back, LSU. Scott carried 19 times for 99 yards and punching in two touchdowns. The yards were hard to come by, but LSU kept hammering Georgia up the middle with the 6-foot-1, 234-pound senior.

Key moment: With less than a minute to play, and the Tigers trailing by a point, Scott broke free from two Georgia defenders on a 33-yard go-ahead touchdown run.

Key decision: The officiating crew flagging Georgia receiver A.J. Green for excessive celebration following his 16-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter. The penalty, assessed on the kickoff, forced Georgia’s Blair Walsh to kick from the 15-yard line. Tigers return man Trindon Holliday caught the ball at the 17-yard-line, setting up a return to the Georgia 43 and a quick LSU touchdown.

Quote of the game: “Well I don’t quite know how people want you react after a play that big in a game this big. Obviously what we did do crossed the line, so I understand. That’s out of our hands and that’s the referee’s call. If they felt we crossed the line we’ve got to respect that.” — Georgia quarterback Joe Cox commenting on the excessive celebration penalty.
