A 51-year-old Warner Robins man died Saturday night after lying down in front of an oncoming train, Houston County coroner Danny Galpin said.

James Stephens of Memorial Terrace apartments died when the train ran over him about 11:45 p.m. near the intersection of Ignico Drive and Ga. 247, Galpin said.

“He had been suicidal for a while and I guess people didn’t take him seriously,” Galpin said.
