The Department of Justice announced Thursday the appointment of G.F. “Pete” Peterman III as acting U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, officials said.
Peterman will replace Max Wood, who resigned last month. Peterman, a graduate of the Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, began working with the U.S. Attorney’s office in 1990 as a criminal assistant U.S. Attorney. He was appointed Criminal Division Chief in 1996 and first assistant U.S. Attorney in June 1998.
