Tractor trailer accident blocks Interstate 75 traffic

A tractor trailer overturned at about 6 a.m. blocking northbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Monroe County.

The Georgia State Patrol reports the accident happened at mile marker 173 which is just north of the Bass Road exit in Bibb County.

The driver survived the accident and has been taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Transportation estimates it will take until 9 a.m. to clear the highway.
