Bibb chairman to hold first listening session

As promised, Bibb County Commission Chairman Sam Hart will hold his first listening session as chairman at the end of this month.

The forum, dubbed Heart to Hart, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the commission offices on the fourth floor of the Bibb County courthouse, located on Mulberry Street.

The plan is for the forums to continue every other week when the commission is not meeting. Hart held similar sessions during his campaign and pledged to hold more once he took office.

The forums are intended for him to learn what issues are important to Bibb residents. Hart has said they will culminate with a community leadership conference in late February or early March to develop a vision for the county.

“If we are to create a vision for our community, it must be a vision by our community,” Hart said in a news release.
