Laurens County man dies in car crash

A 34-year-old Laurens County man died Thursday night in a single car crash on Bates Avenue in Rentz, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Jermaine Tyrone Wright of Rentz was driving west on Bates Avenue when he lost control of his car and struck a power pole about 10:15 p.m., according to the state patrol.

Troopers say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Wright didn’t have any passengers.
