The traffic division of the Houston County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accident with a train and a vehicle at one of the railroad crossings along Ga. 247.
At about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, the train couldn't stop in time to avoid the collision at the Ignico Drive crossing.
At least one person was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia with injuries sustained in the crash, but no further information was available early today.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office is expected to be able to release more information after 10 a.m.
The crossing has been the scene of several accidents with trains in recent years.
