If It’s Paper closing next month

If It’s Paper, a long-time downtown Macon business specializing in paper products, plans to close next month.

The “downward economic trend, particularly in the retail sector” led to “difficult decisions” for the store’s parent company, Xpedx, vice president Steve Bowden said in a letter to customers available at the store.

If It’s Paper has been in Macon more than 20 years, according to store manager Stacy Modena. The Second Street location will close Dec. 20, and the nearest location is in Martinez, she said. Items will still be available online at www.xpedxstores.com, the letter states.
