Firefighters recognized recently at Atlanta luncheon

The Life, Fire & Safety Awards Luncheon, held in Atlanta, recognized Georgia fire personnel and citizens for outstanding service in fighting fires and saving lives, according to a news release from Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John Oxendine’s office.

Judith Samuels of the Crawford County Fire Department received an award for Fire Safety Educator of the Year. The Bolingbroke Volunteer Fire Department received the award for Fire Safety Prevention Program of the Year.

Seven other state fire departments and individuals were recognized, along with youth honorees in fire safety poster and essay contests.
