Falcons re-sign quarterback Redman

The Atlanta Falcons have re-signed quarterback Chris Redman after throwing for 1,079 yards and 10 touchdowns during a brief stint as the team's starter.

Redman led the Falcons during the final four games of the season, winning just one. He was named the NFC's offensive player of the week after throwing for 251 yards and four touchdowns in a meaningless Week 17 win over Seattle.

Redman's 10 touchdown passes last year set a career-high for the fifth-year quarterback and is his highest total in a season since 2002 when he threw for seven TDs as a member of the Baltimore Ravens. Redman also set single-game career highs in completions (28), attempts (42) and passing yards (315) against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15.
