An armed man demanded people inside the Bank of America on Vineville Avenue to get on the floor before robbing the bank this morning, Macon police spokeswoman Sgt. Melanie Hofmann said.

The man left with an undisclosed amount of money in a burgundy Mustang that had been stolen in Peach County, Hofmann said. Police found the vehicle off of Forsyth Road shortly after 11 a.m., she said. The robbery happened at about 10:25 a.m., she said.

The man is described as black with a medium complexion, standing about 5 feet 8 inches with a muscular build, Hofmann said. He was wearing a black mask, tan pants, and a white shirt, she said.
