The movie “The Crazies,” a remake of a 1973 film about a virus invading a town and turning the local inhabitants insane, will be filming in and around Perry and Fort Valley from March to May, and the studio is looking for paid extras to be in the film.
Overture Pictures is seeking men and women of all ages to work as townspeople and other roles, and wants experienced current or former military and law enforcement personnel for specific extra roles.
The studio is holding an open extras casting call from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn, 200 Valley Drive in Perry.
Some acting experience is great but not necessary, the studio wrote in a news release.
The event is not an audition, but a chance for the studio to take pictures and gather information.
Anyone younger than 18 needs to be accompanied by a parent.
Those who are interested but cannot make the open call are asked to e-mail a clear recent photograph along with height, age, contact numbers and other relevant information to TheCraziesExtras@gmail.com.
